2015 was a big year for Atlantic Leap. We worked with a number of exciting startups across the US - and further afield - on some fantastic expansion plans, and we’re pleased to say that there’s a lot more to come in the next 12 months.
So let’s recap on 2015, and then look forward to a prosperous 2016 for all.
2015: building relationships, content and overseas opportunities…
2015 saw some real success stories for our clients: clients that include the likes of New York-based NewsCred, whose aim is to make marketing better for everyone using content creation, marketing management, publishing and measurement. In September 2015, they raised a $42 million Series D funding round, and we’ve been working with the team to help them to forge relationships with publishers and media partners in Europe.
It also was a busy year for Arizona-based OwnZones, who we’ve been working with since late 2014. Its content aggregation ecosystem works to change the ways in which consumers discover, access, collect and subscribe to digital content, and we’ve been working with them to help to expand the range of OwnZones content offerings from video producers in the EU and across the globe.
Brickwork is a New York-based startup that helps to bridge the gap between e-commerce and bricks and mortar stores for retailers, helping to convert web and mobile visitors into primed-for-purchase in-store customers. We’ve been working with Brickwork to evaluate the best opportunities for European expansion in 2016. Watch this space...
We don’t just help US startups either. Cappsool is an Israeli client which had developed a contextual matching engine that helps mobile users to discover a variety of great apps while they’re consuming mobile content. We worked with Cappsool in 2015 to help them to connect and forge relationships with leading web publishers in the UK.
Speaking of the UK, we also undertook some strategy work with Telegraph Media Group last year, and we’ve been collaborating with Startupbootcamp to help to launch an accelerator with a focus on digital media and ad tech. It’s been a busy year.
2016: a year of growth…
Moving into 2016, we’ve already laid the groundwork for some exciting projects.
One of the companies we’re working with is The Media Trust, based in the Washington, DC area. The Media Trust is the leading provider of transparency and ad verification solutions to more than 300 companies that operate in the online and mobile advertising space. We’re working with The Media Trust to launch a full UK sales and support operation, where we’ll be building awareness of their brand and facilitating deals on their behalf with major digital publishers.
We’re also speaking to a number of other leading digital companies who are looking to expand across the globe - as well as a number of young startups who are keen to increase their global presence.
At Atlantic Leap we are passionate about helping startups to achieve limitless growth through international expansion. In keeping with this core belief, our 2016 plans include working with a range of funding partners to make targeted investments in a selection of companies. We already provide strategic and operational support, but these funding activities will complement our existing offering, helping the selected startups to accelerate their international expansion plans and to validate their international activities in the eyes of investors and shareholders.
